Flywheel Valve

A flywheel valve is a valve controlled by a flywheel (typically a large wheel). When the flywheel is turned to open or close the valve, the motion is transmitted through a spring or other mechanism. Flywheel valves are manually controlled valves and are typically used in simple applications such as electricity or ventilation systems. However, large flywheel valves are used in applications where large fluids such as water, gas, or steam are controlled. The disadvantage of flywheel valves is that they need to be manually controlled and require additional equipment to be integrated into automatic control systems.
